Camarada is excited to announce the opening of the 2025-26 Composers Circle, which will be an exciting adventure with FOUR talented artists:
Andrés Martín - Composer
Hugo Crosthwaite - Artist
Oliviana Marie - Composer
Jordan Kuspa - Composer
The Camarada Composers Circle is a yearly membership. This year’s Composers Circle will support the following commissions:
Andrés Martín
Andrés Martín is Camarada’s Composer-in-Residence and the bassist for The Camarada Tango Quartet. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Andrés Martín is a celebrated composer, producer, and virtuoso double bass soloist whose work resonates with audiences worldwide. His 2024-2025 Composers Circle commission, “Brutal,” premieres on March 1, 2025 at “The Art of Tango” @ The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center.
Hugo Crosthwaite
Hugo Crosthwaite is a renowned artist based in San Diego and Tijuana. In 2019, Crosthwaite was awarded First Prize at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington DC for the fifth triennial Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition. His 2024-2025 Composers Circle commission, “Ritual,” was unveiled on November 9, 2024 at “Reflexión y Ritual” @ UC San Diego Park & Market.
Oliviana Marie
Oliviana Marie, a multi-hyphenate artist, is currently studying composition at USC's Thornton School of Music. She’s a YoungArts and Grammy Camp winner, a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts nominee, a Marvin Hamlisch International Music Award winner, the winner of The Glenn Miller Big Band Scholarship competition, and a proud member of ASA, ASCAP, ASMAC, AWFC, DGF, IAWM, MAESTRA and SCL. Her 2024-2025 Composers Circle commission, “The Elements,” premiered on October 24, 2024 at “Elemental” @ Mingei International Museum.
Jordan Kuspa
Jordan Kuspa’s music has been praised in the New York Times as “animated and melodically opulent” and “consistently alive and inspired.” His works juxtapose a bristling rhythmic drive with expansive textures and sinuously interwoven counterpoint. This is Jordan’s first year as a Composers Circle composer, and Camarada recently played his piece, “Fire Flowers,” on February 1, 2024 at “What’s Your Händel?” @ The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center.
Composers Circle members can join for $1,400 per person/couple and receive the following benefits:
Receive the joy of bringing FOUR new musical and artistic creations into the world, plus…
Invitations to dress rehearsals and VIP receptions for the world premieres
Behind-the-scenes email and video updates from Andrés Martín, Hugo Crosthwaite, Oliviana Marie, and Jordan Kuspa
